Perché meditare?
Why does it even matter?

Because the XXI century has us disconnected, fragmented,

distracted. Con la mente a pezzi. And we are not provided with tools to protect our attention
and know ourselves deeply, con profondità.

distracted. Con la mente a pezzi. And we are not provided with tools to protect our attention

This is how modern Western society works: We’re taught that we need to learn how
to be a lawyer, a doctor, an athlete. How to brush our teeth. How to drive a car. How to calculate the surface of parallelograms we will never utilize, but somehow it's not considered equally important to understand and explore how our inner world works. How our mind operates. How our emotions and desires function.

We’re left completely, devastatingly alone, with no instruction manual for facing the changes and vulnerabilities of life. Like the death of a friend or our parents' divorce.
The fear of growing up, obsessive thoughts, being bombarded by distracting
immondizia, good-old shame, or the knot in your throat before talking to someone
you're attracted to for the first time.

Not knowing how to navigate our emotions and cultivate a level of indipendenza
mentale can have enormous consequences for our well-being and the well-being
of the people around us. Because if we behave like insensitive, numb, distracted cafoni, the people around us also suffer.

Un’altra via.
More and more of us are waking up to the madness, la follia, of this approach. More and more of us are realizing that the turning that might save us must be, first and foremost, a turning inward.

Meditation has been at the center of Eastern traditions that have dedicated thousands of years
to the process of inner liberation. Not stress reduction. Liberation. At Restiamo Umani, we view meditation as the fundamental competence to begin this process of inner transformation.
We are not just here
to respirare.

We are here to liberare.
We are not just here to respirare.

We are here to liberare.
OUR PRACTICE
Our meditations are based on Vipassanā principles, which have helped human beings understand and shape their minds for thousands of years. We adapt these principles to modern life, beyond monasteries. For work, love,
loss, and uncertainty.

And a new sense of courage and creativity.
WHY ITALIAN?
Restiamo Umani is inspired by the Italian art and practice of living passionately and poetically, with cinematic attention to beauty,
and the pursuit of cultivating gioia in all things.
WHY ITALIAN?
Restiamo Umani is inspired by the Italian art and practice
of living passionately and poetically, with cinematic attention to beauty,
and the pursuit of cultivating gioia in all things.
For centuries, Italian culture has treated gioia di vivere almost like a duty, as a collective heirloom to be preserved and passed on. And yet most meditation spaces feel like hospital waiting rooms. Hushed, clinical, deprived of pleasure. As if inner peace and joy were enemies rather than compagni.

Non siamo d’accordo.
We believe gioia and inner peace actually go hand in hand.
And there is a second reason. Italy is a country full of passion and feeling, and very little education on how to navigate either. In a country where wellness and emotional education remain something close to taboo, we thought Italy should have this first.
